Festival of the Fish Parade
Vermilion, OH - June 20, 2010

Parade Assembly: 10:00 a.m.
Parade Start: 12:30 p.m.
Parade beginning location: Line-up information will be sent after June 11, 2010
Parade Route length: Approximately one (1) mile

All parade entries are by invitation only and subject to approval by the Festival of the Fish Parade Committee. All units are encouraged to adapt to a “Fish theme” in their entry. Units should be memorable and can be inspirational, educational, and entertaining. The Festival of the Fish Parade will not be used as a platform for special interests. Types of Entries Considered for the Festival of the Fish Parade Marching Musical Units: School Bands, Drum Corp and Independent Bands Vehicles: Antique, specialty vehicles, vehicle pulling float, vehicle carrying Festival royalty and motorcycles. Specialty Units: Drill and Dance Teams, Baton Corps, Majorette, Scouts, clowns, etc. Walking/cycling Participants: Animals, Bicycles, Tricycles and Wagons are encouraged to decorate their non-motorized vehicles prior to the parade in a “fish theme.” Animals: We encourage you to dress or decorate your animal in the fish/nautical theme. (Must provide own refuse clean up). Floats: Professional or amateur Parade Information Forward Motion Parade: All entries are required to maintain a continuous forward motion during the parade. Take parade route length [approximately one (1) mile] into consideration and have back-up transportation for younger participants who may get tired and potentially slow down the parade. Remember it is hot in June so bring water to sip on while walking n the parade. Parade officials may change pace or stop forward motion to maintain suitable space between entries. Each parade unit and groups are required to follow their requests to speed up or slow down. Identification Signs: Identification banners are encouraged for entries in the parade. Cancellation Policy: The parade always takes place rain or shine. If for some unforeseen reason your unit is not able to participate in the parade after being accepted, please contact the parade coordinator three days or more in advance. Parade Day: Entries absent on parade day without proper notification may not receive future invitations to the parade. Entry Application Form: The entry application form must be completed and signed with the understanding of the general rules and guidelines. Incomplete entry forms will not be accepted. Failure to abide by these rules and guidelines may result in the unit’s removal from the parade and jeopardize future invitations.

City of Delaware Annual Parade
Delaware, OH - July 4, 2010

The annual City of Delaware parade will be Sunday, July 4 at 3 p.m. After being organized by the Delaware Optimist Club for a number of years the club has turned over the event to the Delaware County Farm Bureau.

The starting time is later this year, so as not to interfere with Sunday morning church services. The route remains the same: from the county fairgrounds' Liberty Street gate to Pennsylvania Avenue, to Sandusky Street through the downtown, to the corner of Henry and Wilmer streets. A PIN canned food drive will take place during the event and parade participants will be collecting from spectators as they go by.

Montgomery Independence Day Parade
Montgomery, OH - July 5, 2010

Beginning at 10:00 a.m., parade participants will depart from various assembly locations along Cooper Road, proceed east to Montgomery Road, then travel north to Montgomery Park, where a family-oriented festival will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

This year’s parade will be even bigger with a plethora of floats, vintage cars, military units, and official Town Crier, elected officials, the Syrian Clowns, the Blue Chip Jazz Band, Sycamore High School Marching Band and the Santa Goody Bag Band. Get Involved!

There’s still time to enter a unit in the parade by completing a registration form or by contacting Joyce Yock at 792-8329 or jyock@ci.montgomery.oh.us.

Volunteers are needed to help organize and judge the parade units or to drive their personal convertibles as an official transport for government officials participating in the parade. For info call 792-8329

Stow Annual Parade
Stow, OH - July 5, 2010

Stow Fourth of July Parade is a community celebration deep in tradition to commemorate Independence Day. 2010 marks the 52nd year for this parade.

Theme: “100 Years of Scouting – When Tradition Meets Tomorrow”.
Event Date: Monday, July 5, 2010. Kickoff is at 10:00am.

Event Location: The Stow Fourth of July Parade kicks off on RT 59 at Stow-Kent Shopping Center and travels down Kent Road past Holy Family Church, approximately two miles.

Event Sponsors: City of Stow and the Kiwanis Club of Stow-Munroe Falls.

Contact: Fourth of July Parade Hotline – 330-689-2929. Co-chairpersons are Walt Heeney, Kiwanis Club and Linda Nahrstedt, City of Stow.

Assembly Area: Most parade entries will line up in the parking lot at Stow-Kent Shopping Center and should use only the Fishcreek Road entrance to the lot. Unless otherwise noted, all other vehicles should park by Macy’s. Assembly Time: Floats that are being judged must arrive by 8:00am. All other entries must arrive in the assembly area no later than 8:30am. Kent Road will be blocked off to outside traffic at 9:30am. Line-Up Position: A line-up number will be mailed or emailed to the contact person for each registered entrant one week before the parade. Line-up number MUST be visibly displayed on the front right side of the lead vehicle of your parade unit the day of the parade to enter the assembly area and to travel down the parade route. Entry Fee: There is no fee to be in the parade, but those entries that will distribute any item, including candy, literature, and promotional items are REQUIRED to pay a $50.00 “hand-out” fee. This fee must be paid at the time of registration. Checks should be made payable to the Kiwanis Club of Stow-Munroe Falls - Parade Committee. Reviewing Stand: All entries in the parade will be announced when they pass the reviewing stand, which is near the end of the parade, at Kent and Elm Roads. Please provide this announcement information along with your entry form. Judging: All entries registered as floats will be judged in the assembly area on appearance, use of theme and originality. Winners will be announced before the parade kicks off and at the reviewing stand. A cash prize will be awarded to the one entry judged to be the “Best of Parade”. Trophies will be awarded for first, second and third place in the following categories: Commercial Non-commercial Youth groups

Entry Deadline: June 7, 2010. Anyone wishing to participate in the parade must register by submitting an application and receiving a line-up number. Those that submit an application after the deadline must pay a late fee of $50.

Johnny Appleseed Parade
Lisbon, OH - September 18, 2010

The 2010 Johnny Appleseed Festival in our historic downtown square marks the 43rd annual festival. The Johnny Appleseed is a two day event and begins with the parade on September 18th at 11:00am. The Festival is filled with local entertainment of dancing, music, & theatre. Many local organizations provide old fashioned apple butter, apple ice cream, apple fritters & apple dumplings. There is an apple pie baking contest along with 35 food concessions, arts & crafts including yarn spinning, goat milk soap, chain saw wood crafts, dunk tank, games and much more. We have a commercial tent for organizations and businesses that want to provide information to the public, a 50's car show, & motorcycle show. It is truly a time when everyone gets together for hard work and lots of fun.

Fall Festival of Leaves Parade
Bainbridge, OH - October 16, 2010

Parade is Sunday Saturday, October 16th, 2010 - 2:00 p.m.
Lineup is at 1:00 p.m
Follow the parade lineup signs when you come into town.
Parade steps off at 2:30 p.m.
All floats are required to have a fire extinguisher on board.
All horse entries must have a signature.
No entries will be permitted to throw candy or any other items from the float.
